Alpine Ski Bikes

The Alpine Rip Cord was designed to be easy to ride and easy to handle on the ski lift. It features a 3-inch- travel front suspension fork and a shock-absorbing seat post with spring loaded seat which combine to provide 3 inches of rear end suspension travel. Instead of foot pegs, this bike has a foot platform that allows for a split stance which feels more like a traditional bicycle which makes it a favorite among BMX trick riders and dirt jumpers. The seat height and handlebar position can be adjusted to fit any size rider. For visual size reference, that's me in the red jacket in the pics. I am 6'3" 190 pounds, and this bike is as comfortable to ride for me as it is for someone standing 5'0".

The brackets are the same ones used in the standard kit and can be removed and used on any standard 26" mountain bike. The frame is constructed of lightweight Chromoly Steel. The complete bike weighs in at 27 pounds 7 ounces. The Rip Cord features stiff, durable, 99cm twin-tip skiboards with a width that measures 100mm at the tip, 80mm at the waist, and 90mm at the tail, producing an 8-meter sidecut radius. The mounting hole pattern is the standard 40mm x 40mm.

This is an easy turning, easy riding all-mountain cruiser that can be ridden comfortably in the standing or sitting position, on or off-piste, and can handle any aerial trick you throw at it in the terrain park. It is called the "Rip Cord" because you can lean it over to extreme edge angles and "rip the corduroy" groomers with super tight edge-lock carves. I have never had more fun on groomers than railing high-G turns on the Rip Cord. Caution: you will get hooked!
